Mary Beth Byerly

Mary Beth Byerly joined the team at the University of North Georgia in June 2018 and has spent her entire career in human services and education. Prior to the University of North Georgia, Mary Beth was the Vice President of Institutional Advancement at Gwinnett Technical College, Executive Director of Resource Development at the Technical College System of Georgia and also held numerous roles at the United Way of Greater Atlanta. Her work has provided her substantial experience in grant administration, relationship and volunteer management, financial oversight as well as operational and strategic planning. Mary Beth and her husband, Tim, met at Georgia State University while she was earning her degree in Business Administration and just celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary. They are the proud parents of two awesome adult children – Brooke, who is married to Justin, and Brett, who is married to MacKenzie. They have four fantastic grandchildren, soon to be five, and love spoiling them. Mary Beth and Tim now reside in Cumming. She is a graduate of the Leadership Gwinnett Class of 2002, the Technical College System of Georgia Executive Leadership Academy Class of 2015, Leadership Forsyth Class of 2021, and Leadership North Fulton Class of 2023. Mary Beth has served on numerous boards to include the United Way of Greater Atlanta Gwinnett Campaign Cabinet, United Way of Forsyth, J.M. Tull YMCA, Gwinnett Clean and Beautiful, Partnership Gwinnett, as well as Trade Talks org. Mary Beth enjoys being outside—running, walking, or hiking, as well as cooking, traveling, DIY projects, and spending time with family and friends.
