About Trade Talks

Collaborating with schools, businesses and training programs, we create and share tools, marketing materials, and knowhow that help students, veterans, and career-changers discover their pathways to success.

Our Mission

To help people build great futures that build America.

We are changing the narrative about skilled trades—empowering students, veterans and people in unfulfilling jobs with the knowledge they need to get started towards reach their goals and beyond.

The Challenge

America is at a Critical Juncture

We are unable to meet the challenge of building homes, buildings, warehouses, factories, and infrastructure—driving costs higher, increasing inflation, slowing down the economy and putting home ownership out of reach for many.

In suburban and rural communities in Georgia and around the country, there is an increasing demand for skilled tradespeople, intensified by the large wave of current professionals retiring. Over 1.5 million new skilled tradespeople will be needed in the next 5 years alone!

Even as these high-paying jobs go unfilled, high school students and their families still perceive four-year colleges as the only road to success, regardless of goals, talents and interests. Many graduate or abandon college saddled with debt and limited job prospects.

Skilled veterans and individuals working low-wage, unfulfilling jobs are often unaware of the need and potential in skilled trades. Many of them already have core foundational skills that are used in construction.

Technical colleges and apprenticeship programs are struggling with declining enrollments. In most schools and businesses, counselors and recruiters are not equipped with the resources and information to overcome the misconceptions of skilled trades professions as being dead-end, dull, dangerous jobs for less-capable people.
